Unlike asking which football club do you support, which is invariant, most people lack sufficient information about candidates to decide until the last minute. I mean if I was feeling unwell on polling day I would struggle out of my bed if I thought it was a close run race but might stay in bed if my television was telling me that Clintons campaign was in disarray and Hillary was looking defeat in the face.
