Mightier than the Sword
Today I start a new job, as Campaigns Manager at English PEN, promoting literature and human rights worldwide. A dream job for a blogger, I reckon. As before, consider this full disclosure to the bloggers’ register of interests, and sufficient … Continue reading

Convention Mega-Mix
I’ve been helping the Convention on Modern Liberty edit some videos in support of the project. My colleague Portia made a compilation: Please do have a gander, and pass it on to your friends. addthis_url = ‘http%3A%2F%2Fwww.robertsharp.co.uk%2F2009%2F02%2F12%2Fconvention-mega-mix%2F’; addthis_title = ‘Convention+Mega-Mix’; … Continue reading

The Cloak Slips
I’m struck by the idea of personal or organisational “channels”. I now produce YouTubes, podcasts, blogs and Twitters, all of which appear on Facebook without me ever having to actually visit the site. Its an experimentation in communication, self expression. Continue reading

Big Brother, we’re watching YOU
At the fantastic and soon-to-be-essential techPresident, there’s a post on a new technological openness from Congressional Republicans. Although their site at GOP.gov carries pretty run-of-the-mill content, it actually has an extremely substantial API. For non-technophiles, the API is the Application … Continue reading

Snowhenge
Free from the humdrum of work for a day, how interesting that we suddenly come over all pre-historic, and construct a set of monoliths, our very own snowhenge. Continue reading
